WKCDA chairman Henry Tang listens to stakeholders' views

The Honourable Henry Tang, Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and Chairman of the WKCD Authority Board, attended a focus group meeting on 25 November to hear the views of the various participating performing arts groups for the Concert Hall and Chamber Music Hall.

The meeting, held at the Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre, was the second meeting for that particular stakeholder group. Conceptual Plan consultants including Colin Ward from Foster & Partners, Rem Koolhaas from Office for Metropolitan Architecture, and Rocco Yim from Rocco Design Ltd also attended the meeting.

Participants spoke about the need for good acoustics, stage design principles for music halls, and setups for outdoor venues to enhance the audience experience at musical performances. Also raised during the meeting was the importance of having more educational facilities at the WKCD to nurture arts appreciation.
