20,000 enjoyed Freespace Fest!
Twenty thousand cheers to the participants who came and enjoyed the Freespace Fest on December 15 and 16.

People from all walks of life visited the West Kowloon Cultural District on probably the most beautiful days of this year, listening to fabulous music, watching dance shows and amazing outdoor performances, truly turning the WKCD into a place for everyone.

Mr Louis Yu, Executive Director, Performing Arts of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, was grateful to the artists, musicians and street performers and arts groups, as well as performing art talents who had contributed enthusiastically to this event.

“I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to them for a great job done,” said Mr Yu. "I hope this high-quality effort and journey of cultural exploration would not only help cultivate the culture and elevate the public’s acceptance of outdoor performances, but would also serve as a forerunner of the future Park and Freespace venue at the District,” he added.

Freespace Fest, presented by WKCDA and co-curated by cross-disciplinary artists – Ms Virginia Hyam, Mr Kung Chi Shing, Mr Daniel Yeung and MaD Hong Kong Institute of Contemporary Culture, has featured live music, dance, outdoor performances and art installations, as well as collaborative and public-initiated programmes at the waterfront promenade of the District.
